Join us at Park House this Easter
With many local activities to explore for children and grown-ups alike, there is plenty to do when you stay with us during the Easter holidays.
Petworth Park and Uppark House have nature themed Cadbury Egg trails throughout the holidays. You’ll need to solve the clues to win a prize, sure to keep the little ones busy!
The Weald and Downland Museum is a short car journey away from Park House. They have a full programme of events from craft activities and traditional games, to a Good Friday bake in the Winkhurst Tudor kitchen. An Easter bonnet parade is taking place in the market square on Easter Monday. You can also see the heavy horses as well as Southdowns lambs and sheep. Sol and Saxon the pair of working oxen and other traditional farm animals, will also be showcasing their skills.
With our enviable position at the foot of the Southdowns National Park there are endless sights to discover. From rolling hills to bustling market towns, there are breath taking views and plenty of hidden gems. Some of our favourites are;
- The Cass Sculpture Foundation at Goodwood is a unique excursion of contemporary sculpture in a beautiful country setting.
- Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve home to twisted and ancient yew trees which are amongst the oldest living things in Britain, several are at least 500 years old measuring more than 5 metres in girth.
- Petworth House and Park built as a palace in the 17th century with adjoining pleasure ground and a 700 acre deer park is home to a herd of around 700 fallow deer.
- Uppark House and Garden is a tranquil and intimate 18th century house with gardens and woodlands bursting with life.
