School’s out for Summer!

The school holidays are now just around the corner, so we wanted to share some ideas to keep the children entertained whilst you are enjoying a stay here with us at Park House Hotel & Spa. And with this beautiful weather we have been having over these past few weeks, we hope that Summer is here to stay!

Firstly we have an array of activities to explore at the hotel. The Spa has a 15 metre indoor pool, gym, jacuzzi, steam rooms and treatment rooms. Our outdoor pool is surrounded by sun loungers and the pool bar provides snacks and drinks whilst you enjoy the sunshine and the children play in the pool. Venturing into our grounds, you will find; 2 lawn tennis courts, croquet lawn, bowling lawn, a 6 hole 18 tee, par 3 golf course and putting lawn. Plenty of places to play!

There is an extensive selection of local attractions to visit in easy distance of the hotel, here are our top 3 family friendly choices:

  1. Dunreyth Alpacas Chichester

Take part in pet-a-paca, where your family can discover just how soft alpaca fur is. After you’ve been able to touch the alpacas you’re in for another surprise, you can take the alpacas on a walk through the surrounding woods! This herd is located in Adsdean Park, which is a stunning park near Chichester. As you lead the alpaca through the forest you’ll be surrounded by idyllic countryside. The farm also sells knitted garments made from the herds soft fleeces, so you might even be able to grab yourself a pair of alpaca mittens!

2. Arundel Wetland Centre

Spot water voles from the boat safari, hand feed geese at World Wetlands and stroll gentle paths to quiet spots to watch wildlife. Stunning views from the café make it perfect for relaxing, and kids will love the play areas and pond dipping.

3. South Downs Light Railway

South Downs Light Railway runs through the grounds of Pulborough Garden Centre and out into the countryside.

Steam hauled trains run every weekend and Bank Holiday from March to September and also on Wednesdays in school holidays. Special events are held during the season and especially in December when Santa resides in his special grotto and steam trains run to North Pole Station to see him. Santa has a gift for every boy and girl and there’s a seasonal drink for the adults.

Each year the resident teddy bears with lots of their friends and relatives have a picnic. Children who bring their own teddies to join in the fun will get a free train ride!
